First off... I want to say 'hello'. I'm glad to have found a community that can help me learn more of different views from different people.
As for the question, I want to start off by saying that if this has been asked before, please feel free to point me in the right direction (link to the post, that is) and delete this post.
The only thing that almost convinces me of a higher power is fate. I "believe in fate", that everything happens for a reason and for the better of your being etc etc. But how can you have fate without a higher power (god)? I still highly doubt the existence of "god", but I would love it if another Atheist could answer that for me.

The REAL answer about faith is that there isn't any. Damn!
On what evidence do you base this belief in 'fate'?
You can have fate as in determinism. However, the notion that everything happens for your better is quite crazed don't you think? The numerous starving people around the globe I think is probably the best reason why that theory is insane, espcially without any gods to blame it on.
Thank you for a valid answer.
A good answer would be another question.
If you 'believe in fate,' what does 'fate' mean?
Many people, religious or otherwise, never ask this question of words like 'god' or 'love,' and so never know what they mean to believe.
Who is GOD..? Even after Moses asked"Who are you" he got the answer "I am I"
Does it means that the meaning of GOD = according what you think is GOD..?
Well nobody can say "may I introduce you to GOD" or "I am GOD".... without being stoned :)
Back to square one.
I'm not a member of this community, but i'm an atheist, brought up in a protestant area, and yes i used to believe, it slipped away and died as i got older. Humans, including myself, have a belief that they themselves are more important, and humans also link things in their head, like if i deliberatly stepped on an insect to kill it, and then i got robbed, the brain will link the two. It's the whole karma thing, people believe that everything the do will come back to them, ever get annoyed after being really good and getting nothing?
